Welcome to Seeing God in the Ordinary.
In here, I share stories, reflections and media where I’ve seen God in the everydayness of my life. I have met God in many unexpected places. It is my hope that in this sharing, you, too will learn to see and meet God in your personal daily life.
The stories I write in this blog are true, and admittedly some may fit the “you can’t make this stuff up!” category. All are part of my spiritual journey as I continue to learn to seek God throughout my day. I’m grateful to family and friends who appear in these stories for their permission allowing me to share our experiences.
On a personal note, I was born, raised and live in Long Island, New York. My two young adult children often appear in my stories. I look at life as an adventure, and I love to hike, walk, or bike with family and friends in the many parks the Island has to offer. I enjoy going on field trips, visiting local places of interest, taking the train into New York City for a day trip, or visiting out-of-state family and friends. I dabble at gardening, photography, woodworking, and home repairs, and enjoy learning about new things.
I was ordained to the Diaconate in January 2015, then to the Priesthood in September 2015, having been trained non-traditionally through the George Mercer School of Theology.
I’m a bi-vocational Priest. I serve as Priest-in-Charge of St. Boniface Episcopal Church in Lindenhurst, NY. My secular job is in a K-12 school district, where I work as a Technologist.
I’m a Daughter of the King.
I attended Long Island Cursillo Womens’ Weekend #26.
I welcome your comments, as we learn to See God in the Ordinary together.

I Thank God for you sharing your love of God in “everydayness”
with us–what wonderful experiences that help me to see God in the every day of my travels with people and places.
Good stuff Diane. Thanks for sharing.
Diane,
Thank you for making me stop, and in that stopping, sensing the opportunity I have to see God all around me. If I open my eyes and not just keep my eyes open, the ordinary becomes extraordinary and a lesson to be learned and a gift to be had.
Diane,
As soon as I clicked onto your website, the picture sitting at the top of the page gave me a sense of God. Your stories are always enjoyable with an added lesson.
Keep up your story-telling. It is truly a gift from God.

Thank you, Linda – the photo is from the MistyLook template, and it caught my eye as soon as I saw it. I, too, felt very peaceful when I saw this photo.
Nicely done, Diane! You certainly make one think about how God can be found. . . Keep up the good work!
Thank you, Daria, for your encouragement, too. Keeps me looking!
Love the website, and I am looking forward to future posts!
